Fusion Café & Mo:Mo Bar was established on 1 May 2010 to bring the real taste of Nepalese momo (dumplings) in Melbourne along with all the streets foods that we are so accustomed to back home. When we first came to Melbourne we were so keen on trying new foods and new foods we tried, but after jumping from one burger shop to another sandwich parlor we eventually started to crave for our own ten pieces of momos.

There was only one problem; our momo was no longer momo (Nepalese dumplings) in Melbourne, sometimes we had to order dumplings and in other times dim sum, we even tired frozen ones (speaking of which information about Fusion Café & Mo:Mo Bar's new “Nepalese handmade frozen momo” can be found here). The end result would almost be the same though; it didn’t quite taste like what we had imagined it would. Then we had our moment of eureka.

A Nepalese Café dedicated to serve momo (Nepalese dumplings) to the every growing Nepalese community in Melbourne began to take shape on a piece of napkin over (you guessed it) a plate of fired dim sum. A quick call back home to get the basic recipe and we were ready to steam our first set of momo. In all our sincerity we expected it to bring back all the taste we were missing so much but quite ironically we failed in doing that. We kept trying nonetheless and after finding hundreds of ways on how not to make momo, we finally found that perfect recipe. Finally we all had a place to lay back and enjoy our famous momo over a bowl of hot soup.

In doing this we feel very proud to give the multicultural community of Melbourne a taste of our mouthwatering momo (Nepalese dumplings) and so far our customers have really appreciated our efforts and loved our food. (Read our reviews here, here and here)
